Location: Des Moines, IA (just outside the metro) Job Type: PRN / As-Needed Pay: $100/hour

About the Opportunity

A welcoming critical access hospital just outside Des Moines is seeking a PRN Emergency Room Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join its team. This is a single-provider coverage role with sporadic scheduling needs throughout the month — ideal for an experienced APP looking to supplement their practice with flexible, well-supported shifts in a modern facility.

What You'll Do

  • Provide single-APP emergency room coverage with inpatient responsibility

  • Round on a small inpatient census (4–5 patients/day, primarily swing bed — typically only a few require rounding)

  • Manage an ER volume of approximately 3,600 patients per year

  • Work alongside available general and orthopedic surgery support

Schedule

  • 24-hour shifts

  • PRN — coverage needs are sporadic throughout the month

Compensation & Perks

  • $100/hour

  • Weekly pay

  • Direct deposit

Requirements

  • Active NP or PA license (Iowa licensure)

  • Emergency medicine experience preferred

  • Current certifications (BLS/ACLS/PALS as applicable)

  • Comfortable with autonomous, single-provider coverage
